Nurses are becoming tired dealing with this pandemic, and stress levels at work and sometimes at home can become problematic. Home schooling, spouses working from home, becoming a sandwich generation caregiver, worrying about parents in LTC and being shunned by your neighbor just for being a nurse are just a few of the problems facing nursing today in these pandemic times!
Join SNIG in welcoming Rhonda Seidman Carlson who will be talking about :
Workplace Bullying - The Impact of a Pandemic
Dear members,
Staff nurses have been challenged dealing with this pandemic. More than ever we need to focus on our self-care so that we can properly advocate for our patients/residents as well as ourselves. Nurses are challenged not only in their work environment, but also their home environment as well. Home schooling, sending children to school in uncertain times, spouses and nurses working from home as well as in unpredictable work settings can all add stress. We ask that you take care of yourselves so that you are able to take care of others. We do need a plan.
Staff nurses know the effect that COVID-19 has had on our lives and on our practice.
Come join SNIG and listen to Paula Manuel give a presentation Thursday, Sept. 24, 2020 from 7 - 8 p.m.

In my 52 years of Nursing I do not think I have ever been more challenged or have questioned myself for choosing the profession of Nursing as I have in 2020. Covid-19 has seen worldwide healthcare strained to its max. Faces of exhausted nurses fill the pages of newspapers. Nurses cannot get daycare for their children because the public is afraid. There are shortages of PPE. Nurses are afraid of what they might bring home to their families.
Hello SNIG Members:
Writing to you in time of Covid-19. It is a time when the work of nurses is being appreciated by our country. I had planned to retire but I decided to defer for now as I want to be part of the health care workforce. Like most of you I gave fears and anxieties. I work in a psychiatric facility.
Greetings SNIG members
