Do you recognize the need for nursing leadership and support in building sustainable environments that support health? We are looking for members like you to join us on the Ontario Nurses for the Environment Interest Group (ONEIG) executive!

Spring is around the corner (warm sunny days are coming!) and it's time to start thinking about our gardens.
Please join ONEIG via Zoom on Wednesday, April 6 from 7-8:00 p.m. for our skillshare on growing your own food with kitchen scraps and items you can repurpose from your home.
The first 45 minutes will be informative with educational information and step-by-step directions on how to start your own garden at home. The last 15 minutes are available for questions and discussion.

Please join the Greening Committee and the Canadian Association of Nurses for the Environment in an event on Sunday September 26th at 11 AM- 1 PM EST on ZOOM. The event is titled: Responding to the Code Red for Humanity The Health Crises: COVID-19 and Climate. Special guest speakers James Pasternak, City of Toronto Councillor and Dr. Kerry Bowman, Canadian bioethicist and conservationist will be presenting! Access to safe water and sanitation for all is essential to life and a matter of environmental and social justice. Unfortunately, there are over 100 drinking water advisories in First Nations across Canada and no national strategy to address urgent water issues.
The COVID-19 pandemic compounds harms of historically marginalized communities. Our collective recovery must build stronger, healthier communities, including healthy environmental public policy that challenges structural inequities, including environmental racism.
We need our governments to take immediate, future-minded action now to ensure the foundational conditions for human health and wellbeing are sustained for generations to come.
