Join the conversation this afternoon at 1 p.m. on the lessons and legacy of the contamination of Walkerton Ontario's water supply with E. coli in May 2000. The Walkerton water contamination tragedy claimed seven lives and sickened about half of the town's residents--some of whom never fully recovered..

After an amazing webinar with Rachel Arsenault last week, we turn our attention to the lessons and legacy of the contamination of Walkerton, Ontario's water supply with E. Coli in May 2000. This is a late summer hello and updates as we move into a busy fall season.

Hi ONEIG Members,

Help us speak out now against Omnibus Bill 197 that the Ontario government is trying to quickly and quietly pass without legislative or public hearings.

The process is curtailed to the extent that the consequences of this legislation can’t be discussed and debated.

Buried within this Omnibus Bill are changes to the Environmental Assessment Act which will bar experts from assessing the environmental impacts of many public infrastructure projects, and keep communities in the dark about what’s happening in their own backyards.

We are THRILLED to share that ONEIG's Resolution 2: Access to Safe Water and Sanitation was carried at the 2020 RNAO AGM by an overwhelming majority!
