The RNAO-CTNIG is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. We would like to celebrate our membership by putting a spotlight on our members.

We invite our RN and student nurse members to send along your stories of how you became interested in complementary therapies (CT), either as a recipient, advocate, or practitioner. Your stories should be 500-700 words - or one to one and a half pages long.

Here are some guiding questions to help you write your story: 

Dear RNAO-CTNIG members,

Your CTNIG winter 2021/22 newsletter is ready for you to read with articles on:

• protecting your spiritual being and physical self while working
• sleep tips for night shift workers 
• CPSO CAM policy update
• recipe for a healthy kale, quinoa and apple salad

And, of course, we feature our regular columns: research, websites, books and inspirational and humorous offerings. Hope you can take some time to sit back and enjoy it.

Dear CTNIG Members,

CTNIG is excited to announce Katrina Graham as the successful candidate for the CTNIG President Elect position! Congratulations Katrina.

Katrina is a long-time CTNIG member, and she has held many leadership roles with CTNIG.  In 2019 Katrina was received the CTNIG Award of Excellence for her dedication to Indigenous and traditional healing arts, complementary therapies, and the CTNIG community.

Please join us for a night of relaxation and restorative self-care on May 10th and 11th from 7:00pm-8:00pm.

Event #1:  Monday May 10^th: “Regeneration and integration of individual and collective strengths and connections through mindfulness-based imagery and breath work”.

RNFOO and the Nurse Innovator Award Committee are excited to share these upcoming funding opportunities and gala celebrations!

Please join the CTNIG in petitioning the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) to reconsider accepting the more restrictive draft of the Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) policy and to return to the existing policy. Responses need to be sent in by March 15, 2021.

Here is an opportunity of you to support the creation of the RNAO Indigenous Nurses and Allies Interest Group (INAIG)!  As a voting RNAO member your signature of support can contribute to making the INAIG a reality.

Rachel Radyk, an Indigenous RPN and BScN student in her last semester at Ontario Tech is one of the leaders of the INAIG initiative. RNAO approved the INAIG team’s proposal for the creation of INAIG, and the next step is for the group to collect 20 supporting emails from RNAO RN/NP members.
