Dear RNAO Durham-Northumberland members,

We hope you and your loved ones are doing fine. The RNAO Nursing Week flag was raised by the Town of Ajax at Heritage Square, Ajax Town Hall 65 Harwood Ave S from May 19 to 25, 2020. If you had the chance to take a picture with the RNAO Nursing Week flag we would like for you to share them with us! Please send any photos to us by June 9th, 2020 via e-mail for a collage we are putting together to place on our chapter social media.

To all members a gentle reminder of  our Flag Raising – May 19, 2020

The Town of Ajax had a flag raising event today May 19, 2020 for our Durham Northumberland Chapter at the Ajax Town Hall, Heritage Square 65 Harwood Avenue South.

Dear RNAO member,

We sincerely apologize for the technical errors with our Zoom meeting that was scheduled for last evening. However, we are happy to share that we have re-booked the event for tonight, May 13^th @ 7pm and hope you will be able to clear your schedules and join us! Remember to wear your nursing gear, RNAO pins, and have a yoga mat/towel nearby for our yoga session (starting around 7:30pm). We are looking forward to seeing you and celebrating Nursing Week!

In celebration of another successful and active year, the Durham-Northumberland Chapter Executive invites you to a dinner event on November 27, 2019. The event will include a guest speaker and an opportunity to mix and mingle with nursing colleagues. The cost of the event is $10.00 per person and includes appetizers and dinner. The Canadian Nurse Continence Advisors Association (CNCA) is hosting a virtual education event in the Durham College Global Class on Friday, Nov. 8, 2019 from 1 to 3 p.m. The event will be available as an in-person class on Durham College campus (please RSVP) and also available online for live streaming. RNAO Event: Nursing to those in need, Bridge to Health

Hello RNAO members,

Nurses need to get involved in the federal election as many underestimate the influence nurses can have in the government's overall strategy and policy-making decisions. It is nurses that are involved in every aspect of healthcare and the people who use it. There are many ways to get involved and RNAO has created a helpful resource, check out political action toolkit (https://rnao.ca/policy/political-action/political-action-information-kit).

Vote now for your new president/chair-elect.

1. Sign into your myRNAO account at myRNAO.ca/user
2. Under the Account Management menu (right hand side of the page) click on My Elections
3. Click on Durham Northumberland Chapter Elections - Vote Now!

The voting period is now open and closes on October 1st, 2019. The results will be announced via email.
