Each June, RNAO recognizes Pride Month, promoting diversity, inclusivity and barrier-free care for people who identify as 2SLGBTQI+ (Two-Spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, intersex and other sexual and gender communities).

We are proud to mark Pride by participating in events across the province. Join RNAO and the Rainbow Nursing Interest Group (RNIG) at the Durham Pride Parade on Saturday, June 6 at approximately 1 p.m. Exact meeting time and location details will be shared soon after you register.

The Durham Chapter Executives invites you to our Nursing Week Appreciation Dinner and guest speaker event at Harpo's Restaurant in Oshawa (44 Stevenson Rd. South Oshawa.) on Thursday, May 14, 2026 from 6–9 p.m.

As we reflect on this year Nursing Week's theme - Empowered Nurses Save Lives. There will be an opportunity to mix and mingle and win prizes!

Cost for members is $15, students $10 and for non-members is $35.

Event includes a three-course meal.

The DURHAM Chapter is eligible to send 15 consultation representatives to RNAO’s AGM on Friday, May 29, 2026, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.

As a consultation representative, you will weigh in on resolutions submitted by members that will help shape the association’s agenda. 

Consultation Representatives are reimbursed shared accommodations and travel to attend the AGM (see reimbursement guidelines). The AGM is your chance to see your association at work for you and is a great place to meet your nursing colleagues from across the province.

This will be a unique opportunity to hear from Dr. Velji who is a leader in integrated health human strategy for the province of Ontario which includes a focus on education expansion/clinical support. Engage in open discussions about healthcare and nursing issues.

Dear RNAO Durham Chapter Members,

This year, the chapter has created a bursary for members to help support education initiatives and growth in the field of nursing. We are offering 6 bursaries this year for nurses who have completed nursing related continuing education, workshops, and conferences between September 1, 2024 to August 31st 2025. One bursary will be awarded to a nursing student for non-tuition/schooling expenses.
