The opioid crisis in northern Ontario - the forgotten epidemic
Dear Nipissing chapter members,
We would like to invite you to attend an opioid harm reduction education day hosted by the Nipissing University School of Nursing in partnership with the RNAO Nipissing chapter. This two-day event will include workshops on how to use simulation to facilitate learning, an outdoor simulation experience and a knowledge exchange.
The Algoma RNAO Chapter needs YOU! We are reaching out to you to encourage you to be the workplace liaison for your workplace/organization.
Workplace liaison contacts are critical to the Algoma Chapter. They help build, maintain, and facilitate communications between the workplace and the Algoma RNAO Chapter.

As Algoma Public Health and community partners continue to ramp up opportunities for Algoma residents to access first, second, and third doses of COVID-19 vaccines, they are planning for additional mass immunization clinics in the coming weeks. To make these clinics a success – they are calling for your urgent support!
Algoma Public Health is in need of additional human resources to support various clinic roles. What is needed:

Please consider joining your local mass immunization effort to provide third doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to all eligible residents.
Yesterday, the provincial government announced the rapid acceleration of its booster dose rollout. They've expanded eligibility to all individuals aged 18 or over, and shortened the interval to three months (84 days) following the second dose of the vaccine.

As of October 29th, 85.4% of the eligible population (12+) in Algoma is fully vaccinated. This is an exciting milestone as we work towards community immunity and overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic.
