Call to action - support for immunization clinics

Posted on Jan. 10, 2022, 2:19 p.m.

Hello Algoma chapter members,

As Algoma Public Health and community partners continue to ramp up opportunities for Algoma residents to access first, second, and third doses of COVID-19 vaccines, they are planning for additional mass immunization clinics in the coming weeks. To make these clinics a success – they are calling for your urgent support!

Algoma Public Health is in need of additional human resources to support various clinic roles. What is needed:

  • Licensed healthcare professionals (physicians, NPs, RNs, RPNs, etc.) to administer vaccines.
  • Individuals to provide administration supports for check-in tables, check-out tables, wayfinding, etc. No specific qualifications required. Students are more than welcome to apply, pending ongoing availability for weekdays – daytimes and/or evenings.

All individuals will be provided the necessary training and support resources. Positions may require sitting, standing, or walking for longer durations of time. Both immunization and administrative support positions are paid, with opportunities to volunteer as well.

If you are interested in joining the Algoma Public Health team and resilient community health partners in getting Algoma vaccinated and protected against COVID-19, please send your brief expression of interest, availability and contact information to recruitment@algomapublichealth.com. You will be contacted if you are short listed for an interview.

Your consideration is greatly appreciated!

Many thanks,

Algoma chapter executive
