Keep building the momentum for climate action!

Dear ONEIG members,

In the last week, we’ve witnessed the call for urgent climate action from thousands of Canadians taking part in massive demonstrations in many major cities. Let’s keep the momentum going!

Thanks to all of you who joined us last week for the Mobilizing Nurses for Climate Action Webcast. We had over 400 people register to attend. If you weren’t able to attend the live event, the webcast is archived here. ONEIG’s Mobilizing Nurses for Climate Action Toolkit is available here.

The Mobilizing Nurses for Climate Action Toolkit includes a generic version of the presentation used in the webcast—a powerpoint presentation that you can use as a guide to present to your own community. There is also a list of resources as part of the toolkit—including evidence-based sources for climate change science and political action resources. While there are many ways to push for climate action, we foremost need to elect officials who will take urgent and evidence-based climate action. Cast your vote for climate action on October 21st!

Keep the momentum going—share your stories this fall and you could win a signed copy of Maude Barlow’s new book “Whose Water Is It Anyway?”! Whether it is utilizing the toolkit, taking part in demonstrations, participating in local environmental events, writing to your paper, or asking your local candidates about their environmental election platform, in the spirit of solidarity, we encourage you to share your stories of environmental activism as nurses. We would love to hear from you! Send us your stories at oneigrnao@gmail.com or via Facebook for a chance to win a copy of Maude’s new book.

We always love to hear from you—contact us anytime: oneigrnao@gmail.com

In solidarity,

Your ONEIG Executive
