Water and Wells in the Bible and Water Challenges Today                                                                          

Co-hosted by Beth Emeth Bais Yehuda and ONEIG, on Sunday June 13th, biblical scholar Rouhama Danto and nursing and environmental champion Susan Munro will lead a thought-provoking discussion on the meaning of water and wells by drawing on contemporary challenges and scripture.

This event is opportunity to deepen thought and reflection on the interconnection of our physical and spiritual lives as          we understand our relationship with the earth and creation.

ONEIG Resolution Discussion 

Join your ONEIG colleagues on Tuesday June 15 as we review and discuss the 17 resolutions put forward for consideration by the RNAO membership this year. This discussion will inform the feedback and voting of ONEIG's consultation representative at the RNAO AGM. There is a large volume of resolutions to discuss, so please take a few moments to familiarize yourself with the resolutions for consideration (in a pdf attached below).

Water Conversations- Growing the Greenbelt 

This session will focus on coordinating efforts to maintain momentum around the Ontario government's consultation to grow the size and further enhance the quality of the Greenbelt.  Participants will learn about what other organizations are doing, get an update on what is happening provincially, and discuss potential joint priorities and actions, and how they can work together.

Climate Impact of Inhalers

This free educational webinar is open to primary care providers and leadership. It is offered during the day and evening - choose the most convenient time for you. Repeated sessions will be held in September and December.

  • INDUSTRY IS STOPPING ACTION ON PLASTIC POLLUTION

    Last week, the federal government listed plastic as “toxic” under the Canadian Environmental Protection Act. This listing is a crucial first step in Canada’s fight against plastic pollution. But now members of the plastics and petrochemical industry, like Dow, Imperial Oil, and NOVA Chemicals, are suing the federal government in an attempt to stop Canada from tackling the plastic pollution crisis. Urge the federal government to defend its action on plastic and move forward with regulations to end Canada’s plastic pollution problem. 

  • WHEN WILL BURGER KING TAKE ACTION?

    Wendy’s recently committed to eliminating toxic PFAS chemicals from its food packaging – shortly after McDonald’s and Freshii! But industry laggard Burger King still hasn’t taken action. Join us in telling Burger King and its Canadian parent company Restaurant Brands International to stop polluting our bodies and the environment with toxic trash!⁠⁠

  • BAN THE EXPORT OF THERMAL COAL

    Coal power is responsible for more than 800,000 premature deaths every year. That’s why it’s being phased out across Canada. But the federal government is still letting this harmful fossil fuel be sold around the world. Enough is enough - demand the ban of thermal coal.

  • ONTARIO SHOULD PHASE OUT ITS GAS PLANTS

    Phasing out polluting gas powered electricity in Ontario will help fight climate change and provide cleaner air to breathe. The province’s Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) is studying the possibility of ending gas power by 2030 and wants to hear from you. Let them know you support phasing out polluting gas power.
