Walkerton water crisis 20 years on: Join the conversation this Thursday Oct. 1st

Hi ONEIG members!

After an amazing webinar with Rachel Arsenault last week, we turn our attention to the lessons and legacy of the contamination of Walkerton, Ontario's water supply with E. Coli in May 2000. The Walkerton's water contamination claimed 7 lives and sickened about half of the town's residents--some of whom never recovered their health.

Join this Thursday Oct. 1 at 1pm as CELA Executive Director Theresa McClenaghan and Concerned Walkerton Citizens Chair Bruce Davidson delve into the story of the Walkerton water contamination crisis, including the health impacts of tainted water and government reaction to the community’s water crisis.

As we marked the 20th anniversary of this tragedy earlier this year, it is important that we carry forward the lessons from this public health crisis.

See you on Thursday!
