Hello members,
We need your help to get the word out on this important webinar series. Please spread the word by sharing this email and sharing the event link on Facebook.
On Thursday, Sept. 24 at 1 p.m., we will have the first of two webinars on water and health. We are supported in this through an amazing collaboration with the Canadian Environmental Law Association (CELA).
This week, Rachel Arsenault, an Indigenous PhD student at York, will speak about the Indigenous relationship to water and how this is impacted by water insecurity, including the ability of First Nations to protect their members during the COVID-19 pandemic.
On Thursday Oct. 1, CELA Executive Director Theresa McClenaghan and Concerned Walkerton Citizens Chair Bruce Davidson will delve into the story and legacy of the Walkerton water contamination crisis, including the health impacts of tainted water and government reaction to the community’s water crisis. As we marked the 20th anniversary of this tragedy earlier this year, it is important that we carry forward the lessons from this tragedy.
Register here for both webinars.
Please share this email and event links with your networks.
See you on Thursday!
