No experience required! BUT.. passion and enthusiasm? Definitely!

ONEIG leadership members are truly a welcoming and supportive group and we definitely walk the talk of being "all in it together". We are at different places in our geography, nursing practice background, eco-awareness, and professional and leadership experiences BUT we all have in common a super huge love of people, the natural world and basically making the world a better place because we love it so much. Get in touch with us via social media or email: to find out about a new learning adventure.

“Action on behalf of life transforms. Because the relationship between self and the world is reciprocal, it is not a question of first getting enlightened or saved and then acting. As we work to heal the earth, the earth heals us.” - Robin Wall Kimmerer, author of Braiding Sweetgrass

As nurses, we understand the impacts of climate change on human populations, including catastrophic floodsheat waves, and fires, the higher incidence of Lyme disease from the spread of ticks carrying this bacteria and more asthma and heat-related illnesses in the patients that come into our care. We have a unique voice and opportunity to advocate for climate-healthy public policy.

In solidarity with community leaders like the David Suzuki Foundation, ONEIG is urging all RNAO members and passionate supporters-at-large to demand immediate action from government to dramatically reduce carbon emissions

Join your ONEIG colleagues on Tuesday June 15 from 730pm-830pm as we review and discuss the 17 resolutions put forward for consideration by the RNAO membership this year. This discussion will inform the feedback and voting of ONEIG's consultation representative at the RNAO AGM. There is a large volume of resolutions to discuss, so please take a few moments to familiarize yourself with the resolutions for consideration (in a pdf attached below).
