Workplace bullying is a serious occupational health and safety issue that is characterized by persistent and repeated offensive, unsafe, unwanted, degrading, or intimidating behaviours and the abuse of power and control. Bullying results in significant harms for employees, workplace organizations and society in general through its impact on workforce participation. This presentation will focus on issues of workplace abuse, the associated costs, and the role we all play in fostering a safe and respectful workplace. Considerations for identifying and addressing bullying and the related consequences will also be discussed. The aim is that participants will leave the session with an enhanced understanding of the significance of workplace abuse and be motivated to prevent and address it.
