Our 2025 Annual General meeting will be taking place on Thursday September 18th at 7pm. We are very fortunate as our executive has grown. Come meet the new team members and consider getting engaged yourself! Our keynote speaker this year will be Shellyza Sajwani who leads the relatively new Canadian Association of Pharmacists for the Environment. Come and learn about how medications effect the environment and how nurses help make a difference.
On Saturday September 20th, there will be annual climate rallies held across the province and around the globe. The coincide with world leaders meeting in New York City for the United Nations annual General Assembly. This year's theme is Draw the Line: For People, For Peace, For the Planet. Check out more information for your city here! There are events in Toronto, Ottawa, London, Lindsay, Wiarton, Owen Sound, Peterborough, Thunder Bay, Elliot Lake, Sudbury, Kingston, Halton, Oakville, Hamilton, Niagara, Simcoe and Windsor!
October 2nd at 3pm will be the bi-monthly meeting for Greening Nursing Schools Community of Practice. The goal of the group is to network, collaborate and brainstorm ways to reduce the environmental footprint of nursing school and introduce planetary health and disaster management competencies into entry-to-practice curricula. Climate change is happening and the next generation of nurses needs to be equipped to deal with it. Registration info to come.
