CANE-ON / ONE Lunch Meet-up - Ontario Nurses Tapping into Action
Please come to our bi-monthly Greening Nursing School Community of Practice, co-sponsored by CANE-ON.
This is an opportunity for nurse educators, nursing students and those involved in nursing education to discuss ways that they are greening nursing school or would like to. Topics usually discussed include reducing nursing school's footprint including greening the lab and introducing planetary health and disaster management to curricula.
This is a great networking opportunity with nurses across Ontario, Canada and North America.
Ontario Nurses for the Environment IG is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.

ONE Earth Day Event- Victory Gardens and the 3 Sisters
Monday April 21, 2025 at 7 p.m. ET
It's Earth Day tomorrow and having some tangible way to take action is invigorating. Come learn about ways to get your hands dirty! But, there is a twist as this is not a typical eco-gardening webinar. It is a panel discussion on so much more!
Victory Gardens - these were a popular way of meeting the food insecurity demands during the great depression of the 1930's and World War Two. These were challenging times economically, geopolitically and with supply chains. Sound familiar? Let's learn from the past so that we can be prepared for the future.
3 Sisters Gardens - these are traditional agricultural crops of indigenous people on Turtle Island - variations of corn, beans and squash. These practices have been used for a millenia and are sustainable unlike modern industrial agricultural practices.

We are still in the process of securing speakers but we hope to have a food historian and an indigenous knowledge keeper.
