Hi ONEIG members,

Add your name to help protect Ontario's fragile water supplies from over-extraction!

Registered nurse and environmental advocate extraordinaire Sue Munro has put together a comment for the Environmental Registry of Ontario's Draft Water Quantity Management Implementation Guide and is inviting individual nurses and concerned individuals to add their names to the statement she will submit.

Specific asks include prohibitions on issuing water taking permits in areas of severe ongoing drought and stricter measures to restrict non-compliant water-taking operators.

Please take a moment to add your name before February 4th to the comment and share the sign-on link so other interested folks can do the same.

Consider adding your designation (RN, RN student) when you enter your name on the change.org page so you can be identified as such when the comment is submitted to the Ontario Government.

Past ONEIG PPAN Sue Munro is a nurse who proudly provides leadership to both her community and province to protect rural water supplies. Working with her community, approximately 100 000$ were raised for legal costs related to protecting a Quinte-area low yield vulnerable aquifer. ONEIG recognizes the expertise that Sue brings to water protection. Thank you Sue for sharing your wisdom and the opportunity for individuals and nurses to add their names on a comment that speaks to the future of the management of water in Ontario!

With gratitude,

Your ONEIG team
