Hi members,
Join the conversation this afternoon at 1 p.m. on the lessons and legacy of the contamination of Walkerton Ontario's water supply with E. coli in May 2000. The Walkerton water contamination tragedy claimed seven lives and sickened about half of the town's residents--some of whom never fully recovered..
Canadian Environmental Law Association (CELA) Executive Director Theresa McClenaghan and Concerned Walkerton Citizens Chair Bruce Davidson will delve into the story of the Walkerton water contamination crisis, including the health impacts of tainted water and government reaction to the community’s water crisis.
As we marked the 20th anniversary of this tragedy earlier this year, it is important that we carry forward the lessons from this public health crisis.
