Dear chapter members,

I appreciate the pandemic has been a disruptive, exhausting period but know this Peel chapter only has a few weeks left as our current chapter of Peel. I know you have colleagues who are amazing preceptors, contribute to the nursing profession, have a lifetime of achievements. Or you many know a nursing student who has been stellar in learning and applying skills, and will contribute to our nursing profession and in community health, where so many are providing care in shelters and homes and on street corners.

We are excited to share that RNAO’s annual general meeting (AGM) will be taking place virtually from June 9-11, 2022. The Peel Chapter will be able to send 21 members as consultation representatives. As a consultation representative, members will weigh in on resolutions that will help shape the association's agenda and focus.  Deadline has been extended until Friday May 13th at 5 PM.

You will be required to attend 2 Mandatory sessions:

Save the date - June 16th, 2022! We will be celebrating what Peel Chapter has been, including the boundary changes in June 2022, and recognize the Excellence Awards winners. At the event, we'll also have comedians and a DJ for dancing with our friends. Stay tuned for more exciting details. We are delighted that CHNIG is joining us to host this event.

A sign that winter is passing by....

Peel Chapter is eligible to send a maximum of 21 consultation representatives for RNAO’s annual general meeting (AGM) taking place on Friday, June 10, 2022. The timing and format of the event is currently virtual as RNAO continues to monitor public health directives related to gatherings.

The deadline to register is Monday, April 11, 2022 (5pm EST)

Join RNAO’s Diabetes Nurses Interest Group, Pediatric Nurses Interest Group and Peel Chapter to view and discuss “Beyond the Body” on April 28^th from 7:30-8:30pm!  

“Beyond the Body” is a unique documentary of South Asian Youth tackling the diabetes epidemic in the Peel Region.  Learn and spread awareness of this important issue affecting health in the South Asian community.

Tell us about your role as a RN in Peel. Nominate a colleague or nursing student who has a story to share. Email 2 to 3 sentences as a caption with a photo or video  to be featured on our social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Twitter). Email: rnaopeel@gmail.com

 The annual Queen’s Park on the Road is in the planning phase and what we need to know:  who would like to meet (via ZOOM) with their MPP?  Ameek and Paula (Peel Chapter PPAN) are here to assist members to prepare and guide you, the MPPs always anticipate meeting constituents to hear of your experiences.  If interested please email us, or Ann-Marie of RNAO Office your riding and your availability.
