Dear Wound care supporters,
OntWIG is in its 11th year of patient advocacy and public policy for wound care in Ontario. We are hosting our 9th Annual Symposium this year on Friday, April 26, 2019 in Burlington. Please see the updated agenda below.
We are very excited to have Tracey DasGupta as our keynote speaker. Tracey is the Director of Interprofessional Practice at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, who will speak to us about “Team Stories: Today and Envisioning Tomorrow”. Looking deeper at the conceptual framework of building interprofessional teams and building new perspectives. She will be moderating a wonderful panel of interprofessionals including Dr. Robert Sargeant from St. Michael’s Hospital (Chief of Medicine), Christine Murphy (President of NSWOCC (Nurses Specializing in Wound, Ostomy and Continence Canada)), a Chiropodist (Greg Lawrence) and a Registered Dietician, Carrie Johnston from Hamilton Health Sciences who will discuss how to optimize patient outcomes while building an interprofessional team.
We are also excited about the diverse speakers lined up for you across sectors as well as professions. We have the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care sharing with us updates on wound care funding and plans. We will hear from your colleagues in the LHINs about best practices of interprofessional practice from their day to day and learn more about how to tackle challenges using Think Research’s tools and resources.
