Ever feel lost or frustrated as a new RN. Maybe not able to get the job you wanted or find that there aren't any jobs to go to. Feeling overwhelmed? Placements didn't go as planned. We would love to hear from you and what your experiences are as a new grad! Maybe, you have your dream job and would love to share your positivity but, have witnessed classmates who are struggling. The nursing voice is powerful, and we can be great comfort to each other. We need to listen and collaborate solutions in a safe environment. Every nurse started as a new grad and had to go through the growing pains to gain experience. It isn't easy but most nurses will tell you that those early days as you gain experience, will stay with you for the rest of your career. If you shouldn't be able to attend, please send your concerns that you might have to [email protected] or [email protected]. The meeting will be recorded and made available after Sept. 29 on social media and for SNIG on our website under Archived Events .
Our speakers will give lived experiences, problems you may or may not face, and how to thrive through it all.
We welcome:
Tania Lafleur RN who will share some of her lived experiences.
Before completing my BScN in Nursing, I worked as a registered practical nurse (RPN) in various settings, including public health, visiting nursing, hospitals, and academic environments.
Transitioning from RPN to RN wasn’t as challenging as the internal struggles and difficulties I faced as an RN student and now as a new registered nurse graduate. The job market felt tough, and I often felt like I needed more time to truly grasp my new responsibilities.
Have you been worried about securing a job? Were your placements not what you expected? If so, this event is a great opportunity to realize you’re not alone and discover tools to help you thrive and survive as a new graduate.
