OntWIG has been working with the Ontario Health Technology Assessment Committee (OHTAC) in bringing various recommendations to fruition in the last few years. Mostly recently a draft recommendation regarding the use of skin substitutes for adults with diabetic foot ulcers and venous leg ulcers was submitted.
OHTAC and Ontario Health are now seeking feedback from our members and members of the public. Please read the information below to submit your feedback.

Skin Substitutes for Adults with Diabetic Foot Ulcers and Venous Leg Ulcers
Share your thoughts about a health technology assessment and draft funding recommendation on skin substitutes to treat wounds such as diabetic foot ulcers and venous leg ulcers that can be difficult to heal.
This is now open for feedback until April 9, 2021.
DRAFT RECOMMENDATION:
- Ontario Health, based on guidance from the Ontario Health Technology Advisory Committee, recommends publicly funding skin substitutes for adults with difficult-to-heal neuropathic diabetic foot ulcers
- Ontario Health, based on guidance from the Ontario Health Technology Advisory Committee, recommends publicly funding skin substitutes for adults with difficult-to-heal venous leg ulcers
