As we approach the holiday seasons, we want to wish all our members a safe and happy holidays. We hope you all enjoy the holidays and for those who are working through the holidays, please also remember to make sure you take care of yourselves as well. Self-care is very important.
The return of "Black men in Nursing"
On November 12th BNLC held their "Black Men in Nursing Q&A" session hosted by Communications ENO Dwight Barrett with presenters Jason Burke and Jordan Acheampong. The event was a great success, with open-ended questions and great dialogue. Again, thank you to the presenters and guests who attended.
Ottawa mix and mingle reschedule
Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Ottawa mix and mingle has been postponed. Please look out for future dates and updates.
Premier's Awards
Continuing the course of excellence and determination Chair and President of BNLC, Lori Zozzolotto, attended the Premier's Awards as a nominee. Also in attendance was newly-elected President board member of Registered Nurses Foundation of Ontario Janet Montague. Despite not winning any awards that night, they both were still recognized for their great achievements
Strut Your Stuff Feature for this month:
For this month for Strut yourself we would like to recognize two people, Kaywana Malcolm and Daria Juüdi-Hope.
Kaywana Malcolm: Kaywana, our Membership ENO, recently received the Nursing Recognition Award. Congratulations, Kaywana!!!
Daria Juüdi-Hope: Previously our Finance ENO, Daria was accepted earlier this fall to Queen's University's Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Program. Congratulations, Daria!!!
Have you reached a major or minor goal, or are you working toward accomplishing one? Has there been a recent event in your career or education that you are proud of? This is where you can strut your stuff! BNLC will now feature one to two members in each newsletter who have made their own accomplishments and goals. We believe that no matter how big or small your accomplishment was, it needs to be recognized – we as a community need to recognize and celebrate our own achievements.
