The following positions are up for call for nominations
The RN First Assistant (RNFA) Interest Group of Ontario will meet on Wednesday, Dec. 6 at 7:30 p.m. ET. A guest speaker from Magnes will join us to discuss the importance of getting NurseInsure malpractice insurance. The meeting will be via Zoom. We will also use this opportunity to engage in discussions with our fellow RNFAs, focusing on the benefits of networking and emphasizing the importance of maintaining the vitality of the RNFA role.

The Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) interest group has traditionally been one of RNAO’s most active interest groups. As we know, RNFAs play a very important role in nursing, health and health care.
Over the last five years, only one or two individuals have carried out the bulk of the activities of the RNFA – delivering values and services to members – as there has been no full executive committee in spite of several calls for nominations.

Happy Autumn RNFA Members!
I hope that you have all had a happy and safe summer. It has been a quiet summer for the RNAO RNFA Interest Group, but autumn is now upon us and it is time once again for the OMA Surgical Assistants Day Conference, held on Saturday, October 26t, 2019 at the Humber River Hospital in Toronto. This is always an excellent conference and is always well attended by RNFAs as well. I hope to have a meeting while at the conference, so please try to attend. The more the merrier!

It is with great pleasure and excitement that I am pleased to announce that RNAO has accepted our resolution for assistance in obtaining funding for additional RNFA positions in Ontario (see below). It is an exciting process and one which I believe is vital for the future expansion of the RNFA position in Ontario.
