Dear RNFA member,
The Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) interest group has traditionally been one of RNAO’s most active interest groups. As we know, RNFAs play a very important role in nursing, health and health care.
Over the last five years, only one or two individuals have carried out the bulk of the activities of the RNFA – delivering values and services to members – as there has been no full executive committee in spite of several calls for nominations.
At present, RNFA is not meeting the minimum functions* and reporting requirements of an RNAO interest group. The RNAO board asks that the RNFA interest group fill a minimum of four core executive roles by Dec. 31, 2022. Failing this, the board will have to rescind the RNAO interest group status of the RNFA as it will not be considered “actively functioning”.
We are confident that there are many members with the expertise and/or passion and RN first assist to make a difference in this important area of nursing. We urge you to step up and join the RNFA executive for a one-or two-year term. RNAO Home Office staff is eager and ready to support your work!
The following positions are vacant:
Two-year terms:
- Chair
- Policy and Political Action Executive Network Officer
- Social Media Executive Network Officer
- Student Liaison
One-year terms:
- Membership Executive Network Officer (one-year term)
- Communication Executive Network Officer (one-year term)
- Finance Executive Network Officer (one year-term)
Join the leadership team and inspire RNFA to new heights by completing the online nomination form before Aug. 20, 2022.
You’ll find more information about each role here.
Warm regards,
Doris
Doris Grinspun, RN, MSN, PhD, LLD(hon), Dr(hc), FAAN, FCAN, O.ONT.
