Happy Autumn RNFA Members!
I hope that you have all had a happy and safe summer. It has been a quiet summer for the RNAO RNFA Interest Group, but autumn is now upon us and it is time once again for the OMA Surgical Assistants Day Conference, held on Saturday, October 26t, 2019 at the Humber River Hospital in Toronto. This is always an excellent conference and is always well attended by RNFAs as well. I hope to have a meeting while at the conference, so please try to attend. The more the merrier!
Topics will include Anterior Approach to the Total Hip, Inguinal Hernia, C-Section and Conduit Harvesting for Cardiac Surgery. Once again they will be offering a choice of several diverse and interactive workshops including: Total Hip, Billing for MD Surgical Assistants, Surgical Stapling, and Ortho Trauma Hardware Basics.

Also, I have had a request from a member to ask for copies of RNFA Job Descriptions. Please forward your job descriptions to me and I will send them along to the member.
I am also still looking for "letters of support" for the RNFA Role from OR Managers, Program managers, Surgeons, Hospital CFO's, etc. that will help us with obtaining funding for future RNFA positions from the government. Please forward these on to me ASAP. (See previous email from me about our RNAO Resolution)
