Hello OntWIG members,
We hope you are enjoying the last weeks of summer. This summer we got to celebrate our very own founding and executive member, Laura Teague who received the RNAO Lifetime Achievement Award for all her many years of dedication and impact to the profession of nursing and in particular wound care!
The COVID pandemic has interrupted the usual communication and participation of many volunteer organizations and OntWIG has certainly felt this as well. We are reaching out to you, our members at this time to better understand what your needs are and what would interest you going forward.
In the last few years, OntWIG has made requests for members to volunteer for executive positions but have received little interest. The current executive members have been in their roles for many years, some since the foundation (2008) of the group, others for the past 7 years. It is time for a new generation of leaders to take up this important work and to share the leadership opportunity. OntWIG was created as an interdisciplinary group, as such we also have executive members who are not nurses who can no longer participate according to RNAO bylaw changes, this makes it a critical time for you, the members to become involved and transform for the future.
At this time, we are sending out a survey to understand how you would like to be involved and what you want out of your membership this upcoming year and for the future.
