In light of the current COVID-19 pandemic and physical distancing recommendations, the CHNIG Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be hosted virtually.
The CHNIG AGM will be taking place this year, however not on the Saturday (June 13, 2020) following the RNAO AGM this year.
We would like to invite you to attend the CHNIG AGM by using Zoom video conferencing technology.

As we are all working hard to deal with COVID-19, we have decided to postpone the CHNIG Professional Practice meeting that was scheduled for May 26, 2020. We plan to have our next meeting at the end of October and will send out information closer to the date.

Happy Nursing Week! The World Health Organization (WHO) designated this year, 2020, as the “Year of the Nurse and Midwife” in honour of the 200th anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birthday. Nightingale was famously known as “The Lady with the Lamp,” and provided care and comfort to the sick throughout the Crimean War. During the COVID-19 pandemic, nurses continue this tradition by providing knowledge, expertise, quality care, and comfort, to clients and their families.

Due to the rapidly evolving COVID-19 situation in Ontario, the CHNIG Board of Directors has held a meeting last week and made a decision to postpone our CHNIG Workshop, originally scheduled for Saturday, March 28, 2020. We used the guidance on mass gatherings provided by the Public Health Agency of Canada to reach our decision.1
