Dear CHNIG members,
Happy Nursing Week! The World Health Organization (WHO) designated this year, 2020, as the “Year of the Nurse and Midwife” in honour of the 200th anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birthday. Nightingale was famously known as “The Lady with the Lamp,” and provided care and comfort to the sick throughout the Crimean War. During the COVID-19 pandemic, nurses continue this tradition by providing knowledge, expertise, quality care, and comfort, to clients and their families.
We celebrate our profession with you by recognizing your courage, care, and compassion, during this unprecedented time. Thank you for your dedication and contributions in making the world a healthier place!
We are proud of you, and across the world, people stand on their balconies nightly to applaud your bravery and show their appreciation for your contributions to better health for all individuals and communities.
Stay healthy & safe!
Regards,
CHNIG Board of Directors
