    Thank you so much for your tireless dedication to improve the health of our clients and communities, especially during the past two years. We hope you can carve out some time to treat yourselves in a small (or large way) in celebration of the incredible work you do.

    DNIG members are from diverse backgrounds and practise in a number of areas.  What brings us together is a mutual interest in strengthening the nursing contribution to diabetes prevention, care and management of those living with diabetes.  DNIG exists to support nurses with an interest in diabetes through education, networking opportunities and other supports.

    If you know someone who has the passion and energy for leadership please consider putting their name forward for nomination.  If that person is you, there is a seat at the executive table.

    In an ongoing effort to connect with and understand the needs of our members, DNIG executive is inviting RNs and NPs to participate in a brief survey.  The first 10 to respond will receive a $10 gift card for Starbucks so if you have 5 minutes, complete the survey now and we might be joining you for coffee!

  • DNIG Reminder - Beyond the Body Screening

    Join us for a screening of “Beyond the Body,” a unique documentary of South Asian youth tackling the diabetes epidemic in the Peel Region. Filmed through a health equity lens, this documentary calls for reflection and action around the social determinants of type 2 diabetes.

    Special guests from the film’s research and production team - Dr. Ananya Banerjee, Amina Khan and Shudipta Islam - will be present to answer audience questions after the viewing. 

    When: Wednesday, April 28th from 7:30-8:30pm

  • A DNIG Message of Appreciation and Care During the COVID-19 Pandemic

    Dear DNIG member, 

    We are sending you a message of appreciation during these unprecedented times. The COVID-19 pandemic has profoundly changed our professional and personal lives. For nurses involved in diabetes care, the pandemic has dramatically changed many of our care delivery and teaching options. We have heard many stories from members of the Diabetes Nurse Interest Group (DNIG) who are using ingenuity to continue to meet clients’ health needs through technology, and excellent communication/collaboration skills.  Below are a few resources that many have found helpful.
