Correction: Black History Month Celebration – Event Host Clarification

Posted on Feb. 27, 2026, 4:02 p.m.

Hello Ottawa Region 10,

We would like to provide an important clarification regarding the Black History Month event shared in our previous email.

The Resilience: Black History Month Celebration that took place on Saturday, Feb. 28 was planned and hosted by the Black Nurses Leading Change Interest Group, not RNAO. RNAO Home Office provided space for the event, but the leadership, planning, and organization belong to the Black Nurses Leading Change Interest Group.

We sincerely apologize for the earlier misrepresentation and want to ensure full and accurate recognition of the group whose work made this powerful event possible. The Black Nurses Leading Change Interest Group continues to provide meaningful leadership and advocacy within our profession, and we are grateful for the opportunity to amplify their work.

We encourage members to attend what promises to be an inspiring and impactful afternoon. More information can be found here: RNAO.ca/events/chapters-igs-events-307

Thank you for your understanding, and for supporting accurate recognition of the individuals and groups advancing equity and excellence in nursing.

Warm regards,

RNAO Region 10 Executive
