Hey nursing student!
Join the Nursing Students of Ontario for an evening of learning and open forum chat on planetary health on Thursday, Feb. 19 @ 7 - 8:30 p.m. ET.
We are honoured to invite two guest speakers:
- Dr. Barbara Astle RN, PhD, FCAN, FAAN of Trinity Western University
- Ankur Patel RN, BScN, Canadian Delegate of the International Council of Nurses' Student and Early Career Nurse (SECN) Alliance
Planetary health is an interdisciplinary approach and social movement that recognizes that the health of humans - and living beings - are fundamentally tied to the health of our planet's natural systems. It emphasizes on addressing climate change, the loss of biodiversity, and more. It also encompasses how these issues affect our day-to-day life, our communities as a whole, and populations. It encourages a systems-level approach that is equitable and sustainable. From our guests, we will discuss the intricacies of the importance of planetary health and how we can incorporate it into our practice as emerging care providers.
There will also be time for an open forum discussion towards the second half of the webinar. As we are all living, learning and working within its confines, we hope to spark an insightful discussion with one another.
