Confusion Assessment Method (CAM): From Evidence to Practice at SFMH
St. Francis Memorial Hospital standardized delirium screening at admission using the CAM tool, replacing inconsistent practices that were missing early cases in older and medically complex patients.
The webinar covers how the hospital built CAM into daily nursing workflow through staff education, unit huddles, and leadership follow-up, and the resulting drop in falls, length of stay, and functional decline.
The presenter is Mary-Ellen Harris, BScN, RN chief nursing executive for Renfrew Victoria Hospital and St. Francis Memorial Hospital.
