As this chapter year comes to a close, I want to take a moment to personally thank each and every one of you for your continued engagement and support. While it may have seemed like a quieter year from the outside, there’s been plenty happening behind the scenes, your executive has been working hard on several initiatives on behalf of all PCNO members.

PCNO updates & advocacy
Over the past year, PCNO has continued to represent and advocate for primary care nurses across Ontario:
- Representation on the Immunization and Pain Guideline Working Group, supporting much-needed updates (last published in 2010).
- Continued advocacy through AFHTO to address wage considerations for primary care nurses.
- Letters of support for several important research projects, including:
- Pandemic Planning for Primary Care – Implementing a Plan in Southwestern Ontario (3PC-I)
- Understanding the Evolving Role of Ontario RPNs in Primary Care
- Strengthening Team-Based Care: Optimizing the Scope of Practice of Primary Care Nurses
- Exploring the Lived Experiences of Internationally Educated Nurses in Ontario’s Primary Care Settings

We’re proud to celebrate two of our PCNO members who recently presented a poster at the AFHTO 2025 Conference titled “Care and Clout: Community of Practice for Primary Care Registered Nurses.”
Congratulations to both presenters on representing primary care nursing so strongly on the provincial stage!

PCNO Elections Coming Soon
As we look ahead, the PCNO will soon be holding elections for several vacant executive positions, including a President-Elect, as my term will come to an end in 2026–27. If you’re passionate about advancing primary care nursing in Ontario and want to get more involved, we’d love to have you join the team.

Your executive has also been busy planning the 2025 PCNO Conference, and we’re thrilled to share the first details!
