Hello members,
Every year Middlesex-Elgin Chapter partners with the Western-Fanshawe Nursing Students Association (WFNSA) to host an event called Avenues of Nursing. At this event we ask RNs from a variety of nursing roles to talk with students about the different areas of nursing available to them in their future. In particular, we like students to learn about nursing roles that they don't normally see in their clinical placements
This year the event will be hosted on Nov. 19 in person at Western University, from 4:30-7:30 p.m.
The students would love to hear about roles in:
- Public health
- Correctional services
- Community mental health programs
- Critical care areas
- Emergency department nursing
- Travel nursing
- and I'm sure there are a lot more roles they haven't heard about before
If you are interested in sharing your unique role with the students, please contact Middlesex-Elgin Chapter Chair, Janet Hunt, at [email protected] by Oct. 30.
Thank you,
Middlesex-Elgin executive
