Hello everyone,
We hope all of you are staying safe as we venture into the fall season. This year, RNAO’s Middlesex-Elgin Chapter will be kicking off our first event with a sock drive. We are partnering with 519Pursuit, a local non-profit, for their 2020 519Pledge sock event.
This event will run from Oct. 14 - Nov. 14, 2020. Our chapter will be collecting donations in drop boxes and on designated drop-off days. Everyone, including families and work teams, is welcome to share and donate to the cause. If you are unable to donate physically, you can also do it online at 519pursuit.ca/pledge/
As the RNAO’s Middlesex-Elgin chapter has a total of 2,100 members, we are hoping to collect one pair of socks per member. We are also asking for donations of new and preferably white socks. These socks will be distributed to local shelters throughout London for the winter season.
There will be drop boxes made available at the following locations:
- Western University in the nursing building’s atrium for students and staff
- LHSC at the staff entrances at both UH and VH
Any member working within an organization, no matter how big or small, is encouraged to create a drop box for their work area and encourage all team members to contribute to this worthy cause. A poster is attached for you to use on your own drop box.
There will also be drop off days on Oct. 17, Oct. 25, and Nov. 7 from 12-2p.m. at the Victoria Park, in the parking lot at the end of Clarence near Williams Coffee Shop.
