Hello members my name is Sepelene Deonarine and I am the Policy and Political Network Officer for Durham Northumberland Chapter (RNAO)
Queen's Park on the Road (QPOR) is an exciting annual event that enables RNAO Members to meet their MPPs within their local constituency office to discuss key nursing, health, and health-care delivery issues. This year, we will be pushing hard for change on just two current issues – a better approach to long-term care in Ontario and accidental opioid overdoses: a public health crisis. The focus on a more limited number of issues will allow for a deeper, more focused and informed discussion. (See link for QPOR package to review QPOR.RNAO.ca)
This fantastic opportunity helps us to engage with our elected representatives and bring our experiences and expertise to the table in an effort to influence healthy public policy changes.
We are looking to Chapter and Region members to help support the engagement of the MPPs within their ridings from 12 to 15 November and throughout the month and including the first week of December. As we push hard on promotion of this event, we encourage as many of you to attend the meetings

This is the new system this year for the QPOR (getting back to PPAN instead of the home office) ensuring a more coordinated process for scheduling, planning and facilitating meetings with MPPs.
