This year, PeriAnesthesia Week is from February 5 to February 11. During this week, we celebrate all the achievements and work of PeriAnesthesia nurses.
OPANA AGM 2023 – Zoom link
Good morning fellow perianesthesia colleagues,
I must apologize for the delay in sending out the meeting link for this Saturday's AGM. Unfortunately, the hospital where I work caught on fire last Friday and it has been quite the rollercoaster of events for the last week. Please see the bottom of this email for the meeting information and link.
For the AGM on Saturday, Nov. 4 from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.. We will have a guest speaker, Brenda Morgan. Brenda will present on "End-Tidal CO2, Perspective from PACU, ICU, Procedural Sedation, and Critical Care".
OPANA Annual General Meeting - Nov. 4, 2023
Hello everyone,
Here are a few updates from OPANA:
OPANA will host a virtual Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2023 from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Our guest speaker, Brenda Morgan, will present on "End-Tidal CO2, Perspective from PACU, ICU, Procedural Sedation, and Critical Care".
The AGM, including the educational presentation, will be free!
We are also looking for members to join our interest group board. We have many positions to fill this year to fill. These positions are:

Hello fellow PeriAnesthesia Nurses,
I would like to start by saying Happy Nursing Week! I hope that everyone gets to celebrate this week with your fellow colleagues.
I do want to say how proud I am of our PeriAnesthesia nurses. It has not been easy these past few years. We have always been there to help out our colleagues in different areas of the hospital when they needed us the most. Our physical and mental health have been tested.
Extended early bird conference rate and bursary application

I am happy to announce that we are extending our early bird conference rate until Tuesday, April 11. You can register on the OPANA website. The conference will be held Saturday, May 13 and Sunday, May 14 at the Westin Ottawa.

I am happy to say that the National Association of PeriAnesthesia Nurses of Canada (NAPANC) conference registration link is now open. You can register on the OPANA Website. The conference will be held May 13 – 14, 2023 at the Westin Ottawa.

Dear fellow perianesthesia nurses,
I would like to take a moment to wish you all a Happy PeriAnesthesia Nurse Awareness Week! This is a week to celebrate our practice and recognize your colleagues for the outstanding work that you do daily. Although perianesthesia nurses make up only a small percentage of nurses overall, you are a group of specially trained nurses who are resilient and strong and who face change and challenge regularly, all while providing the best experience possible for patients and their families.

Today is the last day to register for OPANA's fall symposium. It will take place tomorrow, Saturday, Oct. 22, from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. ET on Zoom.
The theme is Refresh, Renew, and Refocus. It will be an excellent opportunity to refresh our perianesthesia knowledge. Continuing education hours will be granted.
The cost is $10 for OPANA members and $40 for those who are not members of OPANA.
