The NSO invites its student members to join us for an evening on how clinical practitioners can extend their positive influence into the community through a Social Prescribing Webinar on Thursday, March 19, 2026 from 7–8:30 p.m ET. Oftentimes, as nursing students we are focused on the clinical practice component of our studies which may leave the person-centred approach to approach to address basic social and non-clinical needs of those we care for.
The NSO invites nursing students to a conversation about shaping the future of health care, realizing our shared vision, and developing concrete strategies to improve our communities. Nursing students are frequently encouraged to be advocates for their patients, yet often lack the frameworks to translate that mandate into action in a rapidly changing world. This event is your opportunity to acquire established methods for impactful advocacy and securing real change.

The NSO executive members hope that everyone has had a restful holiday break spent well with friends and family. For those of you heading into your first clinical practicums, you've got this! For those heading into their last semester of clinical practicums or have just completed their last, we're incredibly proud of you and thank you for choosing such an incredible profession.
You're invited to NSO's annual Model World Health Organization (WHO) Student Conference for nursing students in Ontario. This will be an opportunity to network with other nursing students and to begin exploring health policy. You will get the chance to represent a country of your choice, discuss current local to global health issues, and collaborate with fellow nursing students. Attendees will also be learning how to chair meetings, writing, and presenting a resolution on a global health issue of their choice.

Join us for an engaging lunchtime webinar that highlights RN prescribers and how they are actively helping shape this practice across Ontario. Hearing the lived experience from RN prescribers will help advance access to care as well as guide nurse leaders, administrators and educators to support its implementation into the clinical environment.
