    Hello everyone

    It's that time of year to renew your RNAO and NRIG memberships. This upcoming year we will have a new executive board dedicated to the mission of NRIG. I've attached the Fall 2020 Newsletter that reports our newest executives, profiles of our previous winners, and upcoming research funding opportunities.  We have some new and exciting opportunities for all NRIG members including:

  • National Indigenous Peoples Day, June 21 2020

    Hi everyone.

    I hope you are all keeping well!

    On behalf of RNAO’s Nursing Research Interest Group (NRIG) and CNSA-NCU at Ryerson University, Centennial College and George Brown College, we invite you to attend our virtual celebrations of National Indigenous Peoples’ Day from June 18th- 21st, 2020. We will be celebrating Indigenous nurses and nurse researchers as well honouring the diverse cultures and contributions of Indigenous peoples and those working with Indigenous communities across Canada.

    I hope everyone is enjoying the summer weather! It makes social distancing that much easier when we can comfortably enjoy the outdoors.

    Just a reminder that NRIG is hosting our AGM on June 16 at 2pm EST via Zoom. Please email Amy Wright (nrig.chair@gmail.com) for the zoom link to participate. We plan to announce our new board members, awards & scholarship winners and our 2020-2022 vision for NRIG.

    Hello NRIG members

    Thank you to everyone for practicing social distancing to lessen the spread of COVID-19, and especially to those of you working at the front line caring for our community. These are unprecedented times, and the importance of nurses and other clinicians is certainly being highlighted around the country.

    Please find attached our spring 2020 newsletter. A reminder that the deadline for our awards program has been delayed until April 14 and nominations to join the NRIG executive team are due April 30. See previous NRIG emails for details.

  • NRIG Webinar **Especially for undergraduate/early career RNs**

    We are pleased to offer a webinar by Fiona Muckle entitled "Beyond the bedside: Nursing opportunities in research" on March 18 @ 12-1pm EST via ZOOM.

    This webinar is in response to undergraduate students' requests for more information on research opportunities while an undergraduate nursing student and/or early career RN.

    Fiona will discuss the benefits of engaging in research early in her nursing career and to get involved.
