TWe are seeking nominees who are passionate about community health nursing and will lead CHNIG into the future. Nominations are now being accepted for the following positions for a two-year office unless otherwise noted. (Note: at the termination of the two-year term, you are eligible to stand for a second term of two years).

This virtual gathering is intended to be a low-barrier drop-in session for nurses impacted by changes to Ontario's supervised consumption services, including the potential closure of many SCS sites. Nine provincially funded sites across Ottawa, Guelph, Hamilton, Thunder Bay, Kitchener and Toronto were impacted. Nurses directly or indirectly impacted are invited to come together and build community, share resources, discuss how their region and organization are navigating the loss of these services, and have space to share their experiences related to harm reduction.

CHNC, in collaboration with SE Health, engaged with Home Health Nurses across the country to review and update the CHNC HHN Competencies (2010). This update will provide clear direction to equip nursing leaders and point-of-care providers with the evidence necessary to guide and support the practice of home health nurses to work with purpose and positively contribute to the health and social care of everyone in Canada.

As Ontario’s toxic drug crisis rages on, while the premier is planning to gut and prohibit harm reduction programming, health professionals have to bear the brunt of a government who seems to be prioritizing ideology over the need for critical, evidence-based health-care services. This dichotomy has a lasting effect on people’s engagement with the health care system.

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation honours and remembers all children and Survivors impacted by residential schools. The history of pain and suffering brough on by residential schools is publicly acknowledged and commemorated – a key step in the path of reconciliation.
