We will have a panel discussion on opioid overdose and hear from a Waterloo Regional police officer, Oxford County paramedic, social worker from the Canadian Mental Health Association and Southwestern public health nurse. The event is sponsored by RNAO Oxford Chapter and hosted by Christ Church Huntingford.

Join us for our chapter meeting at Tillsonburg Retirement Centre (183 Rolph St. in Tillsonburg, Ont.) on March 29, 2019. We will have a meeting starting at 7:30 p.m. to discuss the resolutions to be presented at RNAO's Annual General Meeting (AGM). The resolutions can be found on the myRNAO website. As well, we will discuss the Nursing Week panel on opiates areas where help is needed.

Develop a better understanding of the evidence-based recommendations identified within four mental health and substance use RNAO best practice guidelines (BPG) during our full-day workshop, hosted by Region 2. These guidelines will help health-care professionals build capacity and support practice when working with clients experiencing mental health or substance use challenges. The BPGs that will be presented are:
Please join the Huron-Perth Chapter n March 7th as we host our 4th annual Legal Issues in Nursing talk, this year focusing on Cannabis Legalization.
The event runs from 5:30 - 8:30pm at the Festival Inn in Stratford.
The evening will begin with a buffet dinner, followed by a short introductory presentation discussing the demographics of cannabis use, and potential implications to health, and end with a presentation from attorney Mae Jane Nam on the legalities of cannabis use.

Are you interested in attending RNAO's Annual General Meeting (AGM) in April 2019?
We have been offered two spots at RNAO's AGM as consultation representatives. One executive member is already attending and we would like to invite one other chapter member to come with us. We also need two alternates as backup to ensure Oxford chapter has representation at the AGM. This is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Oxford Chapter members you are invited to attend a Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID) Symposium on Nov. 6, 2018 from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Festival Inn in Stratford (144 Ontario Street). This event is being hosted by Huron-Perth Chapter.
The evening will begin with dinner, followed by a presentation detailing the processes involved in MAID and will end with a question and answer period featuring a panel of health-care professionals from various disciplines who have participated in the process.
