Hello Region 10 (Ottawa) members, 

This year's Annual General Meeting (AGM) is this Thursday evening, focused on the theme "How Ottawa Nurses are Impacting our Community."  

The RNAO Region 10 AGM is an in-person gathering designed to bring our members together and highlight the incredible work that nurses are doing in the Ottawa community. This event is for registered nurses, nurse practitioners, and BScN Students to celebrate and share impactful contributions within the nursing community while enjoying some complimentary appetizers. We encourage you to bring a nursing colleague or friend along. Being an RNAO member is not a requirement to attend. 

Speakers:

  • Hoda Mankal - Ottawa’s first Nurse Practitioner-led Clinic (NPLC)

  • Kaywana Malcolm  - RNAO APCF project: The impact of cultural factors on mental health treatment outcomes

  • Dan McEwen - Perley Health “Support a Good Death in Long Term Care”

  • Kudirat Salam-Alada - Foley catheter use in the geriatric population

When: Thursday, Oct. 24, 2024 7–9 p.m. 

Where: HAPPY GOAT COFFEE CO MAIN, 35 Laurel St, Ottawa ON K1Y 4M4 

Event highlights:

  • Showcase of impactful work: Attendees are invited to submit their stories and presentations on quality improvement projects, research papers, and other initiatives that have made a significant impact within the nursing field.
  • Networking opportunities: The event will facilitate connections among members, providing a platform for exchanging ideas and fostering professional relationships.
  • Prizes: There will be voting and cash prizes ($25-$500) for the most impactful projects in our community

Submission details:

Participants who wish to showcase their work are encouraged to submit their project summaries or research papers via the Google Form link above by Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2024. We welcome a broad range of submissions, including stories and presentations on quality improvement projects, research studies and other initiatives that have made a significant impact in the Ottawa health care community.
