Hello Region 10 members,
June marks National Indigenous History Month (NIHM) in Canada. It is a time to provide opportunities for all Canadians to acknowledge and reflect on the past and present-day injustices and policies, such as the residential school system and the Sixties Scoop. NIHM must not only be about acknowledging and understanding the history of Indigenous peoples in Canada, but also an opportunity to learn about and practice the act of reconciliation.
In honour of NIHM, we are pleased to invite all members and friends to join Region 10 at the Summer Solstice Indigenious Festival, Movie Night Under the Stars on June 21.
This event will be featuring the 2020 Indigenous film, Run Woman Run. Run Woman Run is a drama/comedy directed by Zoe Hopkins that tells the story of a single mother reclaiming her family and dreams with the guidance of an unlikely coach.
