Hello members of Middlesex-Elgin Chapter,
We have a wonderful learning opportunity for any member who would like to develop their political advocacy skills. Our Policy and Political Action Officer position has become vacant with just under a year left in the term.
The Policy and Political Action executive member – also called "PPAN" – is responsible for the chapter's advocacy efforts, and is the point person for political action activities. The role includes:
- meeting with politicians as part of Queen's Park Day, Queen's Park on the Road and Take Your MPP To Work
- acting on and disseminating action alerts to members and engaging them on issues of concern to nurses and nursing students
- providing a strong voice for nursing during elections, by connecting with candidates and organizing health-care all-candidates debates
If you are interested in volunteering for this opportunity, or if you have any questions about the role, please send an email to MiddlesexElgin.RNAO@gmail.com
Deadline to apply is Nov. 26, 2023. We would like to announce the successful applicant at our upcoming AGM on Nov. 29.
Thank you,
Janet Hunt, chapter president
