Hello chapter member,
This year’s Queen’s Park on the Road (QPOR) event is officially underway! The Middlesex-Elgin Chapter is looking for members who want to engage with their MPPs and advocate for their community.
Queen's Park on the Road (QPOR) is an exciting annual event that enables RNAO members to virtually meet their members of provincial parliament (MPP) to discuss key nursing, health and health-care delivery issues. As a signature RNAO event, QPOR is a fantastic opportunity for members to engage their elected representatives and bring their lived experiences and expertise to the table in an effort to influence healthy public policy changes.
This year, the COVID pandemic has preyed on the most vulnerable, and in doing so, has exposed terrible gaps in our healthcare system. That's why this year, RNAO and its members, via virtual platform, will be pushing hard on two issues: long-term care and opioid overdoses. RNAO's passionate and knowledgeable members will urge their MPP to address these issues.
Resources regarding both priority issues and how to participate can be accessed by visiting https://qpor.rnao.ca/
If you are interested in participating, please email Lauren Rogers, Policy and Political Action (PPAN) officer for the Middlesex Elgin Chapter, lauren.rogers101@gmail.com
Thank you.
