Sock Champions Needed

Posted on Oct. 29, 2020, 11:51 a.m.

Hello everyone,

A reminder that Middlesex-Elgin Chapter is partnering with 519Pursuit, a local non-profit, for their 2020 519Pledge sock event.

We need members to champion this sock drive, to work with their teams to encourage donations. Maybe you work in a hospital unit, maybe you work in the community, or maybe you're working from home. We hope that you would be able to host a drop box in whatever area you work to collect socks from peers, friends and families before November 14th, 2020

Attached are some posters you can use to advertise this initiative to your peers

If you can collect the socks, our chapter executive will come and gather your donations. Attached are some posters you can use to advertise this event in your workplace

Drop boxes are already available at the following locations:

  • Western University in the nursing building’s atrium for students and staff
  • LHSC at the staff entrances at both UH and VH
  • Parkwood Institute staff entrances at both Main Building and Mental Health
  • St Joseph's Hospital B6 unit

There is also one more drop-off day at Victoria Park on Nov. 7 from 12-2p.m. in the parking lot at the end of Clarence near Williams Coffee Shop.

If you have questions about this campaign, please contact Chapter President Janet Hunt at jhunt@RNAO.ca.

Thank you for your support!
