Greetings and happy new year from the RNAO Durham Northumberland Chapter,
We hope all our members had a blissful holiday season. We are jump starting the new year with our first ever Bingo Night. Come out on Jan. 22, 2019 to play some bingo and learn about becoming a consultation representative during RNAO's Annual General Meeting (AGM).
Not sure what a consultation representative is? A consultation representative is a voting delegate for the AGM. It is an opportunity for members to get involved and have a say in which nursing and health-care issues RNAO should work on going forward. The consultation representative is provided with information on the resolutions put forth by members prior to the AGM. Based on the number of votes, a resolution is passed or rejected. If a resolution is passed, home office then starts working with the contributors of the resolution to pave way for changes in health care and health-care policies. Consultation representatives are required to attend the evening session (6:30 - 9:00 p.m.) on April 11, 2019 as well as the Friday session (8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.) on April 12, 2019.
This year, the Durham Northumberland Chapter is able to have 14 voting delegates at the AGM. Sign up is on a first-come, first-served basis. Accommodations and expenses will be reimbursed by home office post AGM. If you are interested in becoming a consultation representative, please plan on attending this meeting. Priority will be given to those in attendance. Should you be interested in becoming a consultation representative and are able to attend the meeting on Jan. 22, please send us an email so we can add you either to the delegate list or on the waiting list depending on availability.
