Hello RNAO Algoma Members,

We hope you and your family are staying well and healthy!

I want to start by thanking each of you for your dedication to nursing, our community, and responding to Covid-19 in whatever capacity that may be – both at work and at home. You are outstanding, and Algoma is so very grateful for all that you are doing to keep us safe.

As the COVID-19 outbreak continues to evolve by the hour, it is with much sadness that the Algoma Chapter Executive must postpone the Nurses’ Week Dinner initially planned for May 6^th, 2020.

I would like to share some exciting news about an upcoming event, and also ask for your help!

Region 11 Spring Online Forum ~ Nurses' Week Event! 

Region 11 will be hosting a FREE 1-hour online forum during Nurses' Week 2020 in May on a HOT TOPIC of your choice.

We are asking all members to complete a 2-minute survey to gather input on topics our members and non-members would like to discuss with experts. 

Hello Algoma RNAO Members, 

RNAO Algoma is eligible to send (3) consultation representatives to RNAO’s Annual General Meeting taking place on Friday, June 12, 2020, at the Toronto Hilton Hotel.

As a consultation representative, you will weigh in on resolutions submitted by members that will help shape the association’s agenda. Consultation Representatives are reimbursed shared accommodations and travel to attend the AGM (see link below for full details).

It's time for nominations for election to our local Algoma Chapter Executive to help guide the direction of our local RNAO Chapter.  This year, the following Executive Network Officer (ENO) positions are open for nominations:

Are you interested in representing the Chapter as a consultation rep. at the upcoming Provincial RNAO AGM on Thursday, April 11 (evening) & Friday April 12, 2019 (day)?

If selected, as one of the 3 consultation reps, you:

•       Are expected to represent the views and perspectives of the chapter, contributing to debate and voting on various motions/resolutions related to governance

Would you like to meet RNAO’s nursing leader? Do you have questions or thoughts to share about your experience as an RN, NP or nursing student?

Porcupine Chapter is inviting members of Algoma Chapter to join us on Tuesday, Oct. 16 for a visit from RNAO president Angela Cooper Brathwaite at Timmins and District Hospital (700 Ross Ave. E in Timmins) in the boardroom at 6 p.m. Angela is interested in hearing from nurses in the community about their thoughts and concerns on any issues related to their practice or the health system more broadly.

There are still a number of positions available - don't delay, apply today! Deadline extended to 4 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 10, 2018.
