The Primary Care Nurses of Ontario (PCNO) supports RNs, RPNs, and NPs working in primary care, who serve as the initial contact for patients in the healthcare system. Their roles encompass illness prevention, health promotion, education, diagnosis, treatment, and counseling, focusing on patient care from birth to end of life.
Primary care settings include Family Health Teams, Community Health Clinics, Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinics, and more. PCNO’s mission is to empower nurses with resources to enhance access to primary care in Ontario.
